I have a cat we found in June, well he really adopted us. He was on the streets and he had a bad sinus infection so we took him in. Not knowing his story we found out he was abandoned 2 times and left to fend for himself. He tried to run into peoples house on a really active street and even in a store. So my mother saw him and gave him water when she left the store from buying food. I guess he followed her because he was on our back porch. My brothers said he appeared out of no wear, So he named him Houdini after the man who did magic. Houdini the cat was maybe 6 months old when we found him we think his birthday is around now so we are putting it on valentines day, because he is very loving. My question is when we went to a vet they said he looks like he is siamese and snowshoe mix maybe more snowshoe. Is there a site where his picture could be seen to figure this out. People say he thinks hes human wont drink from a bowl only a cup, sounds like he says hello, mama, yes, no, i love you, Cole which is my name it sound like he say my name but it gets clearer with time. people think its the cutest thing. He is also very active loves to play and if you don't he will let you know by tagging your feet with his paw, though he leaves his nails in. I know he hates to be left alone if i go in another room and hes sleeping, he will wake up and try to see where i am and fall back to sleep next to me. I know i don't know his story but when we first found him he was scared of everything the sound of the tv, the remote, shoes, wires, phones, and even if you wear a jacket and hold him he would be fin till he saw the jacket. Know he is playful doesn't hide under the coach, loves to clime, likes to eat when we eat, he does play fetch like a dog, and he loves his toys. He likes meeting new people and will watch me or my mom come in the house if we were gone for a little bit he gives kisses and hugs. Though if you can help me figure out his breed it will be helpful i know two people who work with cats said siamese and snowshoe mix. Its not serious to know i love him anyway i just want to contact my local town to figure out a way to stop people from just dumping cats off he was the 9th one we found a home for in 5 years. we are going to keep him but in the past there was a pure black maine coon with 6 toes and 7 on another foot with sky blue eyes, and a egyptian mau who was 2 who was left with her friend another cat who was 6 months old. And a ornate cat left in the middle of winter the family took the young one but not him cause he was older. As well as a time last year with a long haired calico female 16 the vet thinks probably older who was abandoned and she had kidney failure she wasn't going to make it though we tried so, we want possibly a breed to go with the cats pic if not the personalty will to get something more strict to stop people from abandoning there cats because there ill or don't want them, please e-mail me if you might be able to figure the breed out at cole_mcgrane@yahoo.com because 3 were to hurt and sick to save so please can you help thanks, Cole and Houdini the Cat

Yes, Siamese cats are like guard dogs. My 3 years old Siamese "Fabulous" Fits his name to a tee. As a single mother I'm always up patrolling the house checking doors and windows, and no matter how many times I patrol Fabulous is right there with me. when other cats or dogs come too close and some humans he will come and get between us. He has a very husky growl, and he stands his ground. And he is by no means a small cat either. He is very affectionate and loving. He is the "man" of the house.

Isis is an 11 year old seal point siamese cat who has never had a human bath but bathes everyday and has the most beautiful coat I have seen in a Siamese.
She too, has a guard cat mentality that unfortunately does not endear her to welcome guests. As soon as the guests leave, she runs around playfully, obviously giddy that "home invaders" are gone.
She loves to be chased. To start the process, my siamese cat either waits for me to walk past and playfully jump up and grabs my fingers, or waits for me to look at her, arches her back, and then takes off running. She will repeat this process until she gets tired and then drops at my feet and waits to be petted.
I am amazed at her personality and believe that my siamese cat possesses all the good attributes of a dog while keeping the grooming/bathroom attributes of a cat.

my Siamese Donna is 3 years old, i got her from a rescue mission, She is very much a guard cat, when the door bell rings she will rush to the door and look at me and the person standing on the other side of the glass door. when she wants something or just want to play, she will come to me and put her front paws together and and point to the ceiling over and over.she knows what I will allow her to do and what I won't. She is a indoor cat, if i should go out side she will stand in the door way way dieing for me to give her the o.k. to come out. if she should be allowed out. and I give the the
command to go back in the house in she goes. She adores me and I adore her

I had to laugh at the recommendation in the article that a Siamese be bathed weekly. I have had Siamese all my life and bred them for many years-never have I had to bathe a Siamese. They are meticulous with their coat! Also, that is how you can tell when they do not feel good. It will be the only time their coat does not look perfect. I have two two year olds, Sushi and Sabi, and they spend inordinate amounts of time cleaning each other when not cleaning themselves.
